A cruise on 'Ohana can be from two hours to two weeks or more and is ideal to share with friends, family or for corporate entertainment. Ohana is based in Auckland, New Zealand, close to the airport and within a two hour sail of some of the beautiful islands of the Hauraki Gulf. There's so much to see and do in the Hauraki gulf that you could spend your whole holiday on 'Ohana or just a day or two as part of a complete tour of New Zealand.
We can take up to 24 people sailing for the day, or up to eight guests can sleep on board over night in comfort. 'Ohana is great for smaller groups too and we can offer an exclusive experience for a couple or family - please ask about discounts for smaller groups.
An afternoon yacht charter is ideal for an office Christmas party, family occasion, birthday party or hen party.

One day charter (from 1 to 24 people): NZ$1480 for up to four hours plus $200 for each additional hour. (six hours is the recommended minimum if you
want to visit an island). If you fill the boat that's less than $62 per person!
You can start and end your charter at Viaduct harbour in the very centre of Auckland or from a range of other convenient locations.
We can offer a range of catering options such as gourmet canapés for an additional charge or you are welcome to bring your own food and drink. Pricing

Please note the following important advice:
All charter guests should bring suitable and safe clothing. In particular high heels are not permitted on board for safety reasons and because they can damage the deck. Soft-soled trainers are strongly recommended, preferably with a light coloured sole to avoid leaving marks on the white decks.
Well-behaved children are welcome but we only carry a limited number of
child-size lifejackets so please let us know at the time of booking if your
group includes children. Children must be closely supervised and for safety reasons we limit the number of children on each cruise.
Sometimes boarding 'Ohana involves negotiating steep steps or other hazards. Please inform us in good time if any member of your group may be
unable to do this safely - we can easily arrange for you to board at a more accessible location.

General Note regarding these terms
As with all activities based on the water there is always the chance of inclement weather and therefore changes of itinerary and actual time spent in port. We will make every effort to provide both the planned itinerary and activities discussed but will not be responsible for changes caused by weather conditions, and refunds will not be applicable. If weather causes a complete cancellation of the charter, a replacement will be offered either prior to departure (if the situations is known about), or subsequently. The value of the charter will always dictate the replacement offered i.e. on a like for like basis.
Terms and Conditions
These booking conditions will form part of your contract for all the arrangements you book with us.
Payments, Deposits and Timing
The lead person on the booking will be responsible for the full cost of the charter, including any amendment or cancellation charges.
We will require a deposit equivalent to 50% of the value of the charter, unless otherwise advised, before we can confirm your booking.
Payment of the deposit means you have accepted our quotation and you guarantee that you have the authority to accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. We will send you a confirmation invoice with the costs and details of your charter and it is at this point that a contract comes into existence between us. It is your responsibility to check the details on the confirmation invoice and to inform us of any discrepancies immediately.
The balance of your charter must be paid at least 60 days before your departure date. If the balance is not paid on time we may cancel your charter and apply the cancellation charges set out in the paragraph headed “Alteration or
Cancellation by you” below. Deposits are non-refundable unless we are unable to confirm your original booking request.
We reserve the right to amend our prices at any time prior to booking. However, once you have accepted our written confirmation the price of the charter will not alter unless we are required by law to charge a government tax or levy introduced after your booking is made. This does not apply to invoice errors or omissions.
Alteration or Cancellation by You
If you wish to make any alterations to your charter we will make every effort to accommodate these but they may incur a $150 fee to cover our administrative costs. Requests for amendments must be made in writing by the lead person on
You may cancel your arrangements at any time provided that the cancellation is made by the lead person on the booking and is communicated to us in writing. The cancellation charges as shown below will apply from the date the written cancellation request is received by us:
More than 60 days from the start of your charter – Full deposit
Less than 60 days from the start of your charter - 100% of the cost of your holiday
If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of an insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges from them.
The charter contract is based on a charge per yacht and not per person. Therefore, when one or more in a group sharing the yacht cancel and the remainder of the group decide to continue with the charter, then the remaining members of the party will be obliged to take on the share of the yacht costs borne by those cancelling.
Transfer of Bookings
You may change your booking up to 60 days before departure by transferring it to another person if you are unavoidably prevented from travelling. The right to transfer may be subject to payment of an administration fee of up to $150.
We will endeavour to meet any special requests (e.g. dietary). Please confirm your request in writing to avoid any confusion.
Catering is not provided unless otherwise agreed in advance. Full cooking facilities and equipment are provided on board for overnight charters. You may self-cater or bring in outside catering services. We can arrange for outside catering at additional cost if required. Please note that most of the anchorages we visit do not have shopping facilities or restaurants so you should ensure that you have sufficient food supplies on board. In the event of cancellation for any reason you must pay for and uplift any catering which cannot be cancelled. For one day charters or large groups the yacht's cooking equipment is not available and you should provide your own disposable plates and glasses. A gas barbecue can be provided on board by prior arrangement. An extra charge of $60 applies for use of the barbecue.
Guests are responsible for leaving the vessel in a clean and tidy state at the end time of the charter period and removing their own rubbish unless otherwise agreed with the skipper.
We reserve the right to change any of the details advertised, although we will endeavour to tell you of any significant changes before we accept your booking.
Alteration or Cancellation by us
It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your booking after it has been confirmed. However, occasionally some changes have to be made.
If there is a minor change before you depart we will endeavour to inform you before you leave. No compensation is payable for minor changes. An example of a minor change is a change to port of embarkation or disembarkation, or the unavailability of water sports equipment.
If there is a major change before you depart we will notify you as soon as practicable and offer you the opportunity to reschedule or cancel at our option. In all cases our liability is limited to the amount of payment received by us. We cannot
accept responsibility, or pay compensation, where we have to cancel a charter due to Force Majeure (war, threat of war, riot, civil disobedience or strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, national or industrial disaster, fire, technical or maintenance problems with the yacht, adverse weather, or any unforeseen or unavoidable event beyond our control). In the event of your yacht not being available when you arrive for reasons beyond our control (e.g. damage on a previous charter, illness of crew) we reserve the right to postpone, substitute a similar yacht, or if such a yacht is not available, to provide accommodation until such a yacht becomes available.
The yacht and yacht inventory are insured under a marine insurance policy against loss, damage and third party indemnity.The yacht insurance does not include personal travel or medical insurance which should be taken out by all
members of the charter group. We accept no liability for any costs which could be claimed under a standard travel insurance policy.
You are expected to take reasonable care and you agree to pay the full cost of any repair or replacement of the vessel or equipment resulting from your negligence, failure to follow the instructions of the crew or wilful damage. You will be
invoiced for any such expense and the full amount will be payable within seven days of the incident.
Except where required by law, any compensation shall be limited to the amount of payment received by us.
If you have a problem during your charter, please inform the skipper immediately so that he can endeavour to put things right. If the problem cannot be resolved, you must contact our office immediately by telephone or by email so that we are given an opportunity to help. In the unlikely event that the complaint cannot be resolved at the time, you should write to us within 14 days of returning home, giving all relevant information. If you fail to take any of these steps this will
hinder our ability to put the problem right and/or investigate it fully and any right you have to receive compensation will be reduced or completely extinguished.
Use of the Vessel
The yacht may only be used for pleasure purposes. This specifically excludes commercial or professional fishing, racing, regattas or transportation of any cargoes, dangerous of otherwise for which the yacht is not intended.
Access to the Vessel
Access to the vessel may involve risks such as steep steps, floating pontoons, slippery ground or unfenced hazards. You should take appropriate care around these hazards and should ensure that you remain sufficiently sober to cross
them safely. You do so entirely at your own risk. Neither we nor the marina/land owner accept any responsibility for any accident occurring ashore or on mooring pontoons, gangways or jetties. We are unable to supervise members of your
group when they are not with us on board the yacht. If any member of your group is elderly, infirm, disabled, a child or likely to become intoxicated please inform us in good time so that we can arrange to embark or disembark at a suitable
The use of any water sports equipment carried by the yacht is entirely at your own risk. Unless specified to the contrary, no teaching or expert assistance will be provided.
For your safety, the skipper will remain in charge of the chartered yacht and yacht tender at all times and has ultimate discretion over your itinerary. You agree to follow the instructions of the skipper without question at all times. We reserve the right in our absolute discretion to terminate your charter if your behaviour is likely, in our opinion or that of our employees, to cause distress, damage, loss, annoyance or danger to you, our employees or to any third party, or their property. If you are prevented from travelling for this reason, we have no further responsibility for your charter, including any arrangements for your return home. We will impose full cancellation charges and will not give any refunds. Furthermore, we will be under no obligation whatsoever to pay you compensation or cover any costs you may incur as a result of having to make alternative arrangements.
When a group is deemed high risk (eg. stag parties) we may at our sole discretion require a $500 bond to be paid in advance. This bond may be retained at our sole discretion to cover the cost of any loss, damage or additional cleaning work resulting from the charter, otherwise it will be refunded within one week of the charter ending.
Consumption of alcohol
Consumption of alcohol on board the vessel is not recommended for safety reasons. Should you choose to ignore this advice you do so at your own risk and you accept full liability for the consequences, including any resulting fines or other
losses incurred by the vessel operator. Depending on the circumstances, groups of more than 10 persons may sometimes require a special event license to supply or consume alcohol on board. You accept full responsibility for obtaining such a license if it is necessary to do so and you indemnify the vessel operator against any losses or damages resulting from your failure to obtain the necessary licenses for your event. Please note that in many of the areas we embark and disembark passengers ashore, alcohol consumption is prohibited in these public places. Guests accept full liability for any fines resulting from their consumption of alcohol in a public place, even if the fine is levied on the vessel rather than the individual.

In order to process your booking and to ensure that your charter runs smoothly and meets your requirements, we need to use the information that you provide us with. We may use your information to send you details of our offers and
brochures in the future. If you do not wish to receive such approaches please advise us in writing or by e-mail .
Your Charter Contract
These booking conditions form part of your contract with us. The contract and any matters arising from it are governed by New Zealand law and are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand. All pricing is in New Zealand dollars and includes GST unless otherwise stated.
